'Forest' image shown at Arles.

One image from Yan's 'Forest' series, Haidong North Mountain Forest Park construction site, 2017, is included in the group show named as Family of No Man at this year's The Rencontres d’Arles Photography Festival in France. The fascinating exhibition features one image from each of the 494 non-male photographers from all over the world. The themes for the exhibition include Trauma, Economy, Ecology, Family, Gender, Labor, Sexuality, Politics and Technology. The exhibition is curated by Brad Feuerhelm and Natasha Chrisia. The show is installed at Cosmos and takes over the entire 1st floor. Images from all of the themes are mixed together while featuring the widest possible genres and subjects. It is bewildering to see the juxtaposition! One significant factor is that no indication on the sexuality of the author can be detected from simply looking at the images. Surely this will be one of the most exciting exhibitions featuring 'Forest'!
